Worship thru Music
I want you to think of one your favorite song. Can you hear each part of the melody, each instrument that plays? Does this song fill your heart and soul with joy when you hear it? Does it make you want to shout the lyrics that the top of your lungs? Music is a great and wonderful gift. Those that have never heard music don't know the Sweet, Sweet sound of Amazing Grace or the powerful words of The Battle Hymn of the Republic and that is a sad notion when you think about it. But in the same way that you enjoy your favorite song, so to does our lord enjoy it when we sing songs to him in Worship. Giving him glory through music and song.
Singing is a great reliever of stress and allows you to lift yourself up out whatever feelings you may been having at that moment in time. There are many verses of scripture that talk about worship thorough music and we will go over some of them here. Now it is important to remember why we worship our Lord. In singing to him and through the playing of music for him we show him reverence and respect. We also show him that we are thankful for all that does in our lives.
Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. (Acts 16:24-25)
